Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop
A relative newcomer to the robot vacuum space, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping hybrid that's pretty impressive. It's expensive and hindered by a cumbersome, slow learning-curve application.
To mop, you drop an ointment sheet into the base station's water tank that is clean. Then it wands the pads using clean water, and scrubs floors with 10N of pressure.
Features
The Narwal T10 is a combination robot mop and vacuum that can sweep clean, scrub, and scrub hard floors. Its smart navigation and mapping system is based on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also comes with anti-collision, cliff-sensing and anti-collision technologies that help prevent the machine from falling down a staircase or hitting furniture. Additionally, it is able to detect and avoid rugs, which is a frequent issue for many hybrid robot vacuums and mops.
The robot is equipped with two large tanks of water: one for clean water and the other for dirty. It will automatically soak the pads in clean water in the tank prior to mopping. During the mopping procedure, sensors will notify you when it's time to replace the pads and refill the water. It consumes 16 ounces of water, which is less water than most robots.
The T10 will automatically dry the pads after you've cleaned them. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Then, it will resume its mopping task where it left off. This process will eliminate the need to wash your hands manually which is a great thing since it shields you from bacterial and allergens. This feature is unique to Narwal. Most robot vac/mop hybrids simply put their mop heads into buckets of sand that is dirty.
The T10's mopping feature is powered by a motor which rotates the pad three times per second. This ensures a thorough cleaning, especially around edges and corners. The rotating pad is paired with two side brushes to sweep dirt, hair, and debris into the vacuum slot. This eliminates the dust bin and is more environmentally friendly than traditional cleaning.
The app lets you create an image of your home, allowing you to designate areas for both sweeping and mopping. You can also choose the cleaning intensity that you want, for example, a deep clean that removes dirt and debris to ensure an efficient job. You can also set up "no-go zones" to tell the robot not to walk over area rugs and other obstacles.
Design

Narwal T10 is controlled by voice commands or the Narwal app as do most robotic vacuums. It features a small, round LED screen that shows its current status, and two buttons that are touch-sensitive on either side control docking maps, docking, and starting and stopping. You can adjust your cleaning options and schedule mopping in the app.
It also has a button to switch between vacuuming or mopping modes. This is a great feature if you have dirty floors and need to clean them quickly. It has a 1800-pa suction motor that excels in cleaning up dirt and debris, though it struggles to get rid of debris stuck in carpets and rug.
Performance
The Narwal Freo is a marvellous tool for cleaning hard floors. Its massive water tanks are easy to maintain, and it comes with a variety of mopping intensity settings. It is also able to clean small spills or messes from carpet. The vacuuming capabilities aren't quite as impressive, however. Its 1,800Pa vacuum power is less than that of more expensive robovacuums such as the Roborock MaxV Ultra.
Smart technology for navigation and mapping enables the Freo to adapt to an area and plan a cleaning routine that is optimized. It uses simultaneous mapping and localization (SLAM) in order to create an outline of the area, and then works in a zigzag pattern so as to avoid cross-contamination and provide a uniform finish. This map can be shared with the Narwal application, allowing users to alter the cleaning settings or create no-go areas.
Once the Freo is mapped and is able to continue cleaning the area it left. The mop of the Freo is self-cleaning, and return to their dock for washing after every use. This helps to save time and keeps hands free from allergens and dirt. The Freo also helps conserve water by using just 16 oz per mopping cycle. This is the equivalent amount of water used in the coffee cup of a large size.
This robot is able to change between mopping and vacuuming, so it's a great choice for those who have both flooring in their homes. Its sweeping skills are excellent and it does a great job of picking up dust, pet hair, and other debris. The Freo's dual side brushes allow it to reach into corners more effectively than single-brush vacs. Additionally, its cliff-sensing and anti-collision features aid in keeping it from getting stuck on the stairs or crashing into furniture.
The Narwal T10 is more expensive than its competition however, it is a great vacuum/mop unit. Its large base station is home to two 1.3 gallon tanks, which require frequent refilling. This can be a hassle especially if your robotic has tanks that fill faster. The app is also messy and frustrating, and it doesn't offer the same features of customization that you'd expect from a more expensive robot.
App
The Narwal robot mop and vacuum is a standout among the other robovacs on the market.
